FCA Chrysler North Atlantic International Auto Show Detroit Michigan USA

The Ask.

Previsualize 60,000 Sqft car show booth for all Seven of FCA brands Alpha Romeo, Fiat, Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, Jeep, MOPAR on 30 curved and cylindrical screens destinations. Output 16 channels of audio from Disguise One Media Servers. And control an LED ceiling utilizing Hippotizer Media Servers controlling over 1200 DMX universes.

What I did.

Built all previz models, interfaced with Lighting department how to control the LED ceiling. Pre-programmed all content then synced to time code for show playback. I built DMX triggered camera angles for all 7 car brands to be able to fly to a specific brand for programming. I made the camera transitions look like a Google Earth Zoom. So we could see the virtual brand and use the Robo Cams I specified to see the brands in real time for total coverage.

How I did it.

Using Grand Ma Lighting desks I built the timecode timelines to listen to Time Code until we need to loop timecode. Because looping timnecode can make content playback jump I programmed a timecode on timecode off macro to release Timecode lock so we could loop content then once we loop to the start Timecode lock would be engaged. For content management I used the DMX content grid to line up all content by scenes. This content grid then allowed me to utilize a macro in the Grand MA Lighting Desk to load all 30 screens surfaces in less than 10 keystrokes. It was a huge time saver during programming. All 30 screens were then fed into Light Converse so we could previs lighting, video and audio all on once screen and not interfere with each other. It was a game changer.

What I used to do it.

This was one of the more involved control where not just one brand of media server would work. Grand MA Lighting desks controlled media servers, lighting and audio. We used Disguise One and Hipotizer media servers as each had different strengths.
